Have you just received your skipper’s license, completed your training and are ready for your first solo charter? It’s an exciting time – and this is where it’s important to feel supported. We have created the Safety Captain service for those who want to take their first step as a captain safely and confidently.

What’s that?

You become the captain of your own charter boat with an experienced instructor on board. He doesn’t take the helm, but helps you learn skills, fill in the gaps, and take you through all the steps – from boat acceptance to delivery – in real conditions, under your control but with his support.

How does it work?

You book the yacht and act as the official captain
Our instructor goes with you as a mentor/guide
You go through the entire route with full responsibility, but under supervision and with the possibility of adjustment
In process: repetition of maneuvers, moorings, anchorages, route planning, chartplotter and VHF operation
At the end of the journey, a detailed breakdown of mistakes, recommendations, and an additional block of training if needed

Who are your mentors?

All of our Safety Captains are professional instructor skippers with thousands of nautical miles and dozens of successful regattas and voyages under their belt. They know how to explain simply, support and share their experience without taking over.
